Maybe next year……

The brave walk.

Hand in hand with a pre-k friend.

Determined.  Yet worried.

“Isn’t it enough that I just sent a letter?” she thinks.

“Must I really sit on his lap?”

“I won’t do it.”

“Nope.  Not gonna do it.”

The cling.

The needy wrap around that clings like a spider monkey at all costs.

You can’t see it here, but when Grandma tried to depart, it was like prying

gum from carpet.

Impossible!!

And finally.

The cave.

Only to help her poor, scared Teacher, Miss Joy overcome her own “fears” of Santa.

There was no sitting and very little eye contact,

but there was a whole lot of moral support.

Maybe next year……..

Precious…nothing cuter than Santa love OR Santa fear…mine have always adored him, and would love to sit for more than the typically accepted 2 minute lap convo to tell him about their wishes, or just to find out more about the mysterious North Pole. On the other hand, it’s too cute to see a crying child on the big man’s lap, or in Cache’s case the trepidation of the approach itself. Love her careful nature especially when topped with Reindeer antlers.

Elliot, same boat. I think we did get him to sit. For a second. Completely against his will, of course.
